As Monday was a holiday (Labor Day) Evan, Angie, and Jake got up nice and early and went for a terrific hike at the nearby park!

One of the great things about this park is that in addition to really nice trails, there is a big play area! Jake went on the slide for the first time and loved it!

Later in the week, Jake helped Angie with some cleaning around the house (cleaning is so much better without trousers, didn't you know?)
We had a quick trip to Ikea to pick up some baby-proofing supplies.

Jake got a sweet rocking moose (what? you were expecting a rocking horse? not for this moose-loving family!) for his birthday from Mummy and Daddy, and he's now figured out how to ride it! (video)

Rudy and Candy came to stay with us this weekend. By the end of the weekend, Jake and Rudy were really starting to have fun! (video)

Jake's third bottom tooth came in last week and his next top two are making their way in this week, poor thing. He's been extra fond of cuddles this week.

Jake can recognise quite a few things now. Some of his favourites include ducks ("duh"), dogs ("dah"), planes ("vrrrrr" (airplane sounds)), cars ("vrrrr" (very similar to airplane sounds)), and clocks (no specific sounds for those yet) (video):
