For our 2 year anniversary, Angie and I went backpacking in Point Reyes (1 hr north of the Bay Area). Point Reyes was absolutely stunning.
On Friday we hiked from 800 ft to 1100 ft and then down to 160 ft to get to our coastal campground. We set up camp by the coast and walked out to the beach for some R&R. We were very excited to be using our new tent which we got for a killer price. Hurray! Dinner couldn't have been better. We had chicken tikka masala with rice and it was glorious. However, we did have a rice debacle that later attracted raccoons. yuck! They came over to check us out during the night. Only slightly terrifying.
Next morning we had breakfast and broke it all down and packed it all up. We took a different route back to the car and, holy cow, was it steep! But we both agreed that we like a steep uphill over a steep downhill. We made it back to the car in record time and called the trip a success. It was one of the most beautful hikes I have ever been on and it didn't hurt to have the most beautiful woman I have ever known hiking with me. Happy Anniversary, Love.
